"Ernie came to us in August 2016 as a Grade 5 IVDD dog with complete hind limb paralysis. We worked with him from day one, using physio and hydrotherapy to strengthen his core and build muscle. He initially came for 6 weeks, but unfortunately his owners could not give him the care he needed so he became one of the family. He lives life to the full, always out and about, normally in his stroller. He has wheels, but hasn't used them for about a year, as he has begun to spinal walk - this means learning to walk again but in an uncoordinated way. Ernie loves getting around on his own again, as for a while he can be a "normal" dog, sniffing around and running on the beach - his favourite place after the sofa!
"He has had two IVDD episodes, and a nasty infection which put him back to square one, but he never gives up and is always a happy boy, who bounces back stronger than before."
